Clean memory pins and the board around it, if your board has a layer of
rubber or varnish, clean it with a toothbrush and Thinner. You could
remove the rubber smoothly on the board using a screwdriver first.
Protect or cover with paper tape all components around the PLCC
memory.(as shown in the picture).
Tin each side of the memory. Donīt be afraid ! Make a big line of tin on
pins. When you add more quantity of tin you reduce to zero the risk to
damage the board.
Now, hold two soldering tools (each one by hand) and heat two sides of
the memory moving and heating all pins. Heat the other two pin lines of
te memory too. Alternating this movements you can heat four sides of the
memory and take it out.
Clean the board with soldering tool to remove big pieces of tin. So
remove the cover tape.
Clean the board with a toothbrush and Thinner.
So remove the remaining tin with a copper wick (tape tin-remover) and
clean it with thinner again. Take care ! Donīt heat the board too much.
When the board is clean place a PLCC socket. Look the
pin number one position of the socket be in the same position of the
original memory !. Now weld pin by pin the socket on the board. (as
shown in picture).
Plug the intelligent
socket in right position to finish!.
